In June 2011 ASA and QUALITAS Remos signed a cooperative agreement to team on ocean technology projects in Europe. QUALITAS is a leader in providing technical solutions and scientific analysis for issues in environmental protection and marine operations. With several offices in Europe and Middle East, and in collaboration with CODAR Ocean Sensors, QUALITAS is consolidating its focus on remote sensing and operational oceanography.
Through this partnership expert solutions and operational services will be provided to clients in Europe responsible for clean seas, search and rescue, coastal protection, and oil spill planning and prevention. The partnership will focus on the following key areas:
- Improvement of the met-ocean near-real time data management, facilitating the interoperability of multiple sources of information,
- data visualization with special attention to HF radar current, winds and satellite data,
- search & rescue planning at sea,
- support of operations in the coastal and offshore marine environment.
ASA and QUALITAS will work on projects that integrate ocean observing equipment (e.g. remote sensing) with decision support tools such as OILMAP, CHEMMAP, SARMAP, and SAROPS.
Through this partnership ASA and QUALITAS will offer global resources, local expertise and extensive regional experience to provide high quality, cost effective solutions for our clients.
